I LOVE to do author visits to book stores, libraries and schools. Many of my books and programs are curriculum-based (see below) and fit well with STEM, SOLs, and Common Core. And I am happy to tailor a program to meet your needs. My fee for an author visit in Florida is $700 (plus hotel, if needed), which includes three programs of your choice and an optional Lunch with the Author. I can make alternate fee arrangements for schools with special circumstances.
During the pandemic, I began offering virtual visits for $100 per class. I think the students at Millhopper Montessori enjoyed my recent virtual visit (I know I enjoyed meeting them), so I am continuing to offer this option.

Stompin' at the Savoy (for any age, but best for 3rd and 4th grade)--
A chance to learn about my journey in researching and writing this book about Chick Webb and about history and culture during the big band era of the 1930s. We also do a little drumming!
STEM-based program: Amazing Animals (for any age)--
Learn about a pig that does math, a sky-diving pug, a kangaroo that saved her owner's life and many, many more true animal stories. Based on my National Geographic and Scholastic books, as well as Lions & Cheetahs & Rhinos, OH MY!
How to Write Engaging Nonfiction (3rd grade and up)--
Students learn about my experience writing nonfiction and how they can write their own. This program is full of tips for young (and not-so-young) writers!
Punctuation Programs (2nd grade and up)--
Choose from: PUNCTUATION'S MAGIC, featuring ALFIE THE APOSTROPHE and some interactive magic tricks; or FINAL MARKS COUNT! which includes a reading of PENNY AND THE PUNCTUATION BEE and an actual mini-punctuation bee.
For the very young--a fun, interactive visit from The Alphabet Lady that will help reinforce the alphabet and letter sounds.
